Sylvester.ai Highlighted in Computer Weekly for Transforming Preventative Cat Care

Advances in AI and IoT helping cat caregivers understand their furry friends better

(November 2026)

We are proud to see Sylvester.ai featured in Computer Weekly following our showcase at the London Vet Show as part of the Nestlé Purina Unleashed accelerator program. The article spotlights how technology companies are leveraging computer vision and tech innovation to make preventative care more accessible and support proactive wellbeing tracking at home.

As part of the feature, our team discussed the unique development of our specialized computer vision models, which are purpose-built to read the visual facial expressions of domestic shorthairs. Because cats hide pain, everyday caregivers deserve better tools to help them know when it may be time to see their veterinarian. Our platform addresses this gap by translating subtle facial cues into objective comfort insights using a single photo, helping caregivers understand their cat’s comfort at home.

The feature also highlighted our foundational shelter partnerships, which allow us to work with volunteers and shelter cats to continuously build and improve the expert-annotated dataset that trains our computer vision. This work creates a tool that no general AI can replicate, helping cat caregivers establish a normal baseline, see more, and know sooner.
